Bai Dai: Sunsets on the North Island
Jade-green water, soft white sand and some of the most spectacular sunsets in Vietnam — a short guide to Bai Dai and the quiet coves of northern Phu Quoc.
Le Palmier · 19 September 2026
Stretching along the north-west coast of Phu Quoc, Bai Dai is often named among the most beautiful beaches on the island. It faces west, which means one thing above all: the sun sets straight into the sea, every clear evening.
Why Bai Dai?
The beach is long and gently shelving, with fine sand shaded by casuarina trees and calm, clear water in the dry season. It is quieter than the busier beaches in the south, so it suits families, couples and anyone who simply wants to swim and read in peace.

When to go
- Season: The dry season, from November to April, brings sunny days and the calmest sea.
- Time of day: Arrive about an hour before sunset to swim, then stay for the colours.
- Rainy season: From May to October the west coast can have strong waves — check conditions before swimming.
The coves of the north
Beyond Bai Dai, the northern tip of the island is fringed with jungle and small coves of turquoise water. They are best explored with a driver for half a day, with plenty of stops along the way.

From above you can see how close everything is: Grand World sits right by the sea, so a day on the beach and an evening in the festival city fit easily together — with Le Palmier in between.
